The Sunshine Coast offers many wonderful opportunities for sport fishing.
From Gibsons to Roberts Creek, salmon fisherman troll along the shelf edges; Sechelt, Halfmoon Bay, Secret Cove and Pender Harbour are popular starting places for boaters and anglers. There are more than 30 marinas up and down our Coast, offering everything from boat rentals to live bait.

One of the popular spots for salmon fishing on Sechelt is at the Davis Bay pier right in front of the Bella Beach Inn. Also Davis Bay beach right in front of the
Bella Beach Inn is very popular for clam digging and crabbing.
(fishing license required).

The Trail Islands in Trail Bay at Sechelt, the Thormanbys with their splendid sandy beaches by Secret Cove, the Hodgson Islets by Pender Harbour all offer something different and interesting. Other inlets along the coast, Pender Harbour, Jervis Inlet and Hotham Sound all offer the paddler unique and exciting paddling opportunities.
There are hundreds of excellent hikes to be enjoyed from one end of the Coast to the other. You can rent canoes and kayaks and lessons for beginners are available.

The most popular spot to dive on the Sunshine Coast is at the Skookumchuck Rapids. "Skookum" means strong, and "chuck" means waters. This is a trip for experienced divers as the current can be up to 14.5 knots on the flooding tide and 16 knots on the ebb tide - you have to be ready for anything. The dive is great - the marine life includes anemones, rose stars, rock fish, kelp greenlings and, sometimes, Puget Sound king crabs. The best way to dive the rapids is on a charter - most local operators have hundreds of hours of experience diving the Skookumchuck. Less experienced divers might want to take a crack at the Tzoonie Narrows. The tidal stream here is only three to four knots. Marine life includes sea lemons, lingcod, kelp greenlings, silvery pile perch, wolf eels and even decorated warbonnets with spikes on their heads. Tzoonie is also a popular night-diving spot. There are many great diving opportunities on the Sunshine Coast including our artificial reef (a decommissioned, purposely-sunk warship) off Kunechin Point at the mouth of Salmon Inlet.

Golf on the Sunshine Coast is an amazing experience. Towering firs and cedars line courses overlooking beautiful ocean vistas and breathtaking mountain ranges. Rolling hills and sloping greens make for challenging play.
There are beautiful 18 hole courses just minutes from the Bella Beach Inn.
